Remote Lutron HomeWorks QSX monitoring
Horotics watches the Lutron HomeWorks QSX processor and the network it depends on, tells you the instant something drops, and gives you secure LAN-level remote access to put it right — all from one self-hosted box, with the client's data staying on site.
Lighting is the one system a client always notices
When a HomeWorks processor locks up or the switch feeding it fails, the keypads stop responding and the client is standing in a dark hallway — and they will tell you about it. General IT monitoring doesn't understand Lutron, and the control system can't watch the network it sits on. Horotics covers both from a single box.
The processor and its network, watched together
Horotics discovers the Lutron gear and the switches, access points and links around it automatically, then keeps a roughly 10-second heartbeat on each. You see a live, device-level picture of the whole lighting system — not just a single "site online" tick — on both the on-site box and the cloud fleet portal.
- Automatic discovery and fingerprinting — no manual entry
- HomeWorks QSX processor reachability and health tracked directly
- Every client's Lutron estate on one portal
One meaningful alert
If the switch a processor hangs off fails, every keypad and device behind it appears to drop at once. Horotics understands those dependencies and sends one alert naming the real cause, the way you actually want to hear about it.
- Dependency-aware suppression — root cause, not symptoms
- Alerts by email, WhatsApp, Telegram or Slack
- No alert storms, so an alert still means act now
Remote access that reaches the whole LAN
Each box provisions its own secure VPN tunnel on first boot — no port-forwarding, no firewall changes, nothing for the client's IT to arrange. You get genuine LAN-level access, including the Layer-2 broadcast reach Lutron discovery relies on, so remote diagnosis and programming behave as if you were on site.
- Self-provisioning tunnel, opened on demand
- Full LAN reach for discovery and support
- No standing inbound ports on the client's network
Clear some faults automatically
Where the processor or its network gear is powered through UniFi PoE or a managed PDU, Horotics can power-cycle it automatically on a controlled retry, with cooldowns and attempt limits. Many lock-ups recover before the client ever reaches for the phone.
- Automatic self-heal over UniFi PoE or a PDU outlet
- Attempt limits and cooldowns built in
- Anything it can't fix becomes one clear alert
Lutron monitoring, answered
Can you monitor Lutron HomeWorks QSX remotely?
Yes. A small Horotics box on the site watches the Lutron HomeWorks QSX processor and the network around it continuously and reports status to a secure cloud portal, so you can check any lighting installation from anywhere without visiting site.
How quickly will I know a Lutron processor has dropped?
The box keeps a roughly 10-second heartbeat on each device, so a processor going offline is caught in seconds and sent to you as one clear alert by email, WhatsApp, Telegram or Slack — with dependency-aware suppression so a failed switch doesn't bury you in symptoms.
Does it help with remote Lutron work?
Yes. Each box provisions its own secure VPN tunnel on first boot with no port-forwarding or firewall changes, giving you real LAN-level access — including the Layer-2 broadcast reach that Lutron discovery needs — rather than a tunnel to a single device.
Does my client's data leave the site?
Not by default. The box monitors and acts locally; only summary status, inventory and alerts go to the cloud portal. Raw traffic, credentials and integration passwords never leave the device.
What else does the same box cover?
Crestron, UniFi, KNX, Sonos and the wider network, with a device library growing daily. See all integrations, the Crestron monitoring page, or how Horotics compares with Domotz, OvrC and Auvik.
